Independent Mortgage Advisors
opening a secured lending consultancy inside a car dealership?
hi all, i am currently working to become an independent mortgage advisor, which not necessarily needing to have an office, but i have an option to open a small office inside a car dealership. Now do you think that will be a good idea? And can you back you answer with reasons, As I don’t currently have a clue whether it will be a right or a wrong move...
I assume you mean that you will be selling funding to people buying cars instead of mortgages. If this is the case unfortunately its not a new idea, most franchised car dealers now have a business manager in the branch. This can be very lucrative but you will have to control a wild pack of car salesmen who will constantly try to chip your rate (and commission) to close their deal. This is probably the biggest challenge of that job and for someone with no motor trade experience it is a daunting task indeed.
If you are going to try to sell mortgages from a car showroom then you are clearly insane.
