Financial Adviser Fees
What are the financial advisor fees charged by Fidelity vs. Ameriprise?
I've been looking through the web, but not finding straight answers to make a comparison, unless I begin signing up on forums that I don't want to join. Does anyone use a financial advisor (full service with portfolio planning, research, fund recommendations & follow up, etc)...? I think it will depend on the amount of money, so if you have an idea what the fee is, please also say what investment amount would be signed-up to the advisor for that fee... thanks in advance.
Thanks - I should specify that I'm talking about the full service, where the financial advisor also manages the assets entrusted to them. They follow the progress, research possible improvements, etc. Fidelity has both options where you pay them a fee for that (what is that fee...) or you don't pay them a fee, and they can set you up with a portfolio but you do the management of the portfolio yourself.
I am enrolled in the Protected Index Program (money management / portfolio program) at PTI Securities & Futures LP. There are no management or inactivity fees through PTI, just straight trade commissions. I've personally found that the great thing about this long-term program is that I speak directly to the money manager by phone - it is full service - and he calls me when he has an idea. Uber personal service. Not sure what the minimum account is to open though. Good luck with your investment journey!
